Job Description:
CarePlus Residential Services (CPRS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical & Residential Services Director to lead clinical operations and residential program oversight across multiple locations in Maine. CPRS provides person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, currently serving clients across Lewiston, Auburn, Portland, and Bangor.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, supervision of residential leadership teams, and collaboration with state and healthcare partners. The Director serves as the agency’s primary qualified clinical authority for reviewing and approving clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to Program Managers, House Managers, and Residential Teams.
- Conduct monthly supervision meetings and support progressive discipline when needed.
- Promote a positive, professional, and supportive culture.

Clinical Oversight and Authorization:
- Review and approve ISPs, BSPs, Functional Assessments, Positive Support Plans, Safety Plans, and Treatment Plans.
- Ensure compliance with Maine DHHS, OADS, and HCBS requirements.
- Provide direction to Program Managers and House Managers on clinical implementation.
- Coordinate with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Chief Business Officer (CBO) on operations, compliance, QA findings, and staff training needs.
- Collaborate with the Contracted Nurse and external providers to ensure clinical recommendations and doctor orders are followed.

Program Operations and Compliance:
- Oversee daytoday residential program operations across multiple homes.
- Ensure adherence to clinical and behavioral protocols.
- Participate in QA audits, state inspections, investigations, and corrective action plans.
- Maintain emergency preparedness and program safety standards.

Client Support and Coordination:
- Ensure proper implementation of ISPs, crisis plans, and medical protocols.
- Maintain regular communication with guardians, case managers, and clinical providers.
- Review progress notes and clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Administrative Duties:
- Approve schedules, overtime, and payroll authorizations.
- Ensure documentation and training compliance.
- Provide rotating 24/7 administrative support.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, Behavioral Health, or related field.
Must hold one of the following Maine credentials:
- LCSW
- LCPC
- RN (ID/DD or Behavioral Health experience)
- MHRTC
3–5 years supervisory experience in ID/DD, Behavioral Health, or Residential Services. Experience authorizing clinical documentation and working with DHHS/OADS/HCBS standards.
