Job Duties
Oversee reliable, consistent, and compliant day-to-day, 24x7 operation of the hospital’s physical plant and facilities across the campus, including ensuring a high-performing electrical/power plant, HVAC, maintenance, painting, and grounds functions.
Foster a focus within the Facilities team on ensuring a high level of environmental, patient, and staff safety, a clean healing environment for patients and families, and a high degree of efficiency through the physical plant.
Participate in space planning for the organization, including coordination of short-term renovation and construction projects; contribute to the multi-year campus master planning efforts (including redevelopment of existing facilities for their highest and best use).
Maintain oversight of project management for the department’s construction and renovation projects, with a focus on managing to scope and achieving deliverables on time and budget.
Coordinate vendor relationships related to construction projects.
Ensure compliance with all external regulatory agencies (local, state and federal) guidelines and policies and provide excellent documentation to support evidence of compliance.
Be a confident leader and communicator, a visible individual responsible for managing hospital facilities to ensure that operations, maintenance, and vendor management standards are met in a cost-effective, safe, and efficient manner.
Be responsible for all relevant Joint Commission and CMS Environmental Safety / Life Safety standards related to facilities management.
Immediately take ownership and accountability for the CMMS system while augmenting and creating processes and efficiencies that ensure exceptional customer service experience.
Provide technical guidance for building, power, energy management, infrastructure, power plant, and building management system issues.
Ensure that the hospital remains in compliance with all regulatory agencies, including TJC, CMS, NFPA, and the New Jersey Department of Health.
Manage visibly and communicate effectively with direct reports and internal tradespeople. Provide clarity and direction in oral and written communication.
Provide code review knowledge, insight, and guidance during the design and construction phases of projects, as needed.
Bring strong leadership to the department in the context of professionalism, credibility, visibility, and customer satisfaction, fostering a productive relationship with internal and external partners

Position Qualifications
The ideal applicant will be a visible leader and collaborative leader. They will bring a demonstrated history of effective leadership and the ability to think strategically. The candidate should possess a strong work ethic and the competence to solve complex problems in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships. The incumbent must be an excellent communicator with strong competencies and experience in facilities management, including leading and motivating professional teams.
A minimum of 7 - 10 years of progressive leadership experience is strongly desired in a relevant healthcare facilities setting. Familiarity with OSHA, The Joint Commission, NFPA, and CMS policies are required.
Education
The successful candidate will possess a four-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering curriculum, or a closely affiliated discipline. Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) designation preferred.
Salary commensurate with experience within posted range
$147,937- 186,539/ Year
