Pharmacy Technician

- Assist the pharmacists in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy
- Review prescription labels, pull medications and fill according to guidelines
- Works according to the facility delivery schedule, and prioritize
- Contribute to the efficient workflow of the pharmacy by maintaining a high productivity level and an error-free work product.
- Communicates with supervisors and teammates consistently and appropriately as necessary
- Updates NDC numbers in software system as necessary
- Understands and monitors the system dashboard.
- Prepares bulk medications as per orders
- Maintains the orderliness of the pharmacy by keeping pharmacy countertops and drug bay shelves tidy and organized.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk as part of the position and bend to access medications from shelving
- Maintain the proper licenses to work as a Pharmacy Technician
- Enter, access, and verify the accuracy of data in the pharmacy system.
- Reliability and flexibility with scheduling are required. Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- Previous Long Term Care Pharmacy experience preferred
- Basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Medical terminology
Education and/or Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Prefer experience in Retail / Long Term Care Pharmacy but will train new technicians
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
- Be familiar with brand/generic names and general uses for medications
- Familiarity with federal and State laws as they pertain to the pharmacy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
