Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Pharmacy Tech specializing in order entry to join our team on a 7-on, 7-off schedule. The ideal candidate will possess strong pharmacy technician skills, with experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient safety and medication management during overnight hours, ensuring efficient processing of medication orders and supporting clinical staff.

Duties

• Accurately enter medication orders into the pharmacy system during overnight shifts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Review prescriptions for completeness and clarity, verifying patient information and medication details.
• Answer customer (nurses) phone calls throughout the shift and provide excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies or clarify order details promptly.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all entered orders, adhering to confidentiality and security protocols.
• Assist with intake procedures for new medication orders, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
• Uphold high standards of patient service by facilitating timely medication processing and supporting clinical workflow

Skills:

• Proven experience as a pharmacy technician, particularly within LTC pharmacy experience in order entry.
• Priority given to technicians with FW/ECM or DOCUTRAK experience.
• Familiar with order entry for SNF, ALF, and CILA facilities and rule sets.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, calculations, and days supply of medications
• Clear, concise communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with pharmacy order entry systems and medication management software. FRAMEWORK specifically.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy during high-volume overnight processing.
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining focus on patient safety standards.
