The incumbent assesses the findings in the ultrasound examinations and assists the radiologist and staff physicians in interpreting the ultrasound studies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
- Maintains workstations and equipment.
- Greets patients and confirms patient identification.
- Assists in the ordering of supplies.
- Enhances professional growth.
- Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Completion of a one- or two-year program or certified training course, followed by certification examination.
- Ultrasound training, involving new diagnostic equipment and techniques is received on the job.
- Registry with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.
- Must be proficient in the English language.
