Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities in Gwinnett County. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving such as home care environments. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care services tailored to individual needs, including medication reminders and monitoring vital signs.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities and those requiring memory care or dementia care.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to ensure a safe environment.
- Document care provided using EMR systems and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (a reliable car with proof of insurance/registration).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Previous experience in senior care, long-term care, or home & community care is preferred.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, including Alzheimer's patients and those requiring memory care (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols and maintaining hygiene standards in personal care settings.
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to client dignity.
- CNA/PCA certification is a plus but not required.
- Have or willing to acquire CPR/First Aid certification and evidence of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test
