Position Summary:
The Intake & Scheduler oversees the entire patient intake process within a home health/hospice setting, using WellSky/Kinnser EMR. This role ensures newly referred patients are scheduled accurately, insurance authorizations are complete, and transition seamlessly into care services while supporting high-quality communication with referral partners and internal teams.

This role ensures newly referred patients are scheduled accurately, insurance authorizations are complete, and transition seamlessly into care services while supporting high-quality communication with referral partners and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all incoming patient referrals and process intakes using Kinnser/WellSky- Schedule patient visits, allocate clinician resources, handle adjustments or cancellations
- Communicate schedule changes to clinicians, referral sources, and patients
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizations
- Collaborate with case managers, field clinicians, and billing staff as needed
- Maintain compliance with state and federal home health/hospice regulations
- Track referral trends and contribute to regular intake performance reports
- Identify opportunities to streamline intake processes and improve efficiency
- Provide system support and orientation to new intake team members
Qualifications:
Prior intake/scheduling experience in home health or hospice- Proficient user of Kinnser / WellSky EMR systems
Familiarity with home health regulatory requirements and payer authorization processes - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Prior experience with medical billing and coding, preferred
- High attention to detail; ability to work independently and in fast-paced settings
