Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Director of Development position based in Fremont, NE. In this role, the Director of Development will lead the organization's fundraising efforts, including managing planned giving, annual giving campaigns, and relationship building with individual and corporate donors.
Development and Fundraising
• Develop and execute Care Corps LifeHouse’s annual fundraising plan with defined revenue goals in collaboration with the Executive Director
• Secure financial support from individuals, businesses, and foundations
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and community partners at all levels
• Grow and manage recurring, mid-level, major, and planned giving programs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors through ongoing communication, meetings, and engagement
• Work with the Executive Director and Board to identify and engage new donor prospects
• Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgment of all gifts, both monetary and in-kind
• Oversee and maintain the donor database, ensuring accurate tracking of donor activity and reporting
• Assist with planning and execution of capital campaigns as needed
Events and Community Engagement
• Oversee planning and execution of all fundraising events and campaigns
• Lead the annual fundraising event and other key initiatives
• Secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and auction items
• Recruit and lead the Development Committee in event planning and implementation
• Coordinate fundraising-related media including storytelling and video content
• Develop and implement fundraising goals for initiatives such as Fremont Area Big Give and Hunger and Homelessness Week
Grant Research, Writing, and Reporting
• Research and pursue grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
• Write and submit foundation grants
• Collaborate with the Executive Director on state and federal grant applications
• Work with program staff to gather data and outcomes for grant proposals and reporting
• Complete timely and accurate grant reports
Communication and Public Relations
• Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy
• Write, design, and coordinate donor-centered communications including newsletters, appeals, and impact reports
• Translate program data and outcomes into compelling messaging for donors and the public
• Manage vendor relationships with printers, mail houses, and other communication partners
• Create and deliver presentations, representing Care Corps’ LifeHouse in public settings
• Oversee publicity opportunities including community events, tours, and speaking engagements
• Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and branding across all platforms
• Attend board meetings as requested and support board engagement in development efforts
Traditional and Digital Media
• Maintain and create content for social media platforms
• Write press releases, fact sheets, and other public relations materials
• Coordinate media outreach and interviews
• Serve as a spokesperson when appropriate, including regular media segments
• Update and maintain the organization’s website
• Capture and manage photos and stories for public relations use, ensuring proper releases are obtained
• Serve as point of contact for donors, volunteers, and community groups
Data, Strategy, and Evaluation
• Utilize metrics and analytics to evaluate fundraising, communication, and event effectiveness
• Monitor return on investment for fundraising activities and campaigns
• Provide regular reports to leadership and board on progress toward goals
• Continuously refine strategies based on data and community response
