Home Health Aides (HHA) / Personal Care Aides (PCA) – Nassau County, NY
$19.00 – $21.00/hr | Full-Time & Part-Time Shifts Available| Hiring in: Nassau County, NY
At DHCare Home Health Inc., we believe in helping individuals live safely and independently in the comfort of their own homes. We're seeking dedicated Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Personal Care Aides (PCAs) to provide essential care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What You'll Do as an HHA/PCA
- Assist clients with daily personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, shaving, skin and nail care
- Support mobility and comfort through safe transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration)
- Prepare and serve meals, support hydration, and assist with feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping: laundry, tidying rooms, vacuuming, dishwashing, bed-making
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and families
- Report any changes in client condition promptly to the Registered Nurse or Case Manager
- Follow all infection control and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records
- Participate in ongoing training and in-service programs as required
What We're Looking For
- Successful completion of a New York State–approved HHA or PCA training program
- Valid HHA or PCA certificate
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care
- Valid photo ID (Driver's License, State ID, Green Card, or Work Permit)
- Signed Social Security Card (front and back copy)
- Reliable transportation
- Current physical and clear background check
- Two professional or personal reference letters
- Direct deposit form or voided check (if preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
