What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Food Service Manager position at Care Centers of Nassau?
Supervise dietary staff, including creating schedules, training, coaching, mentoring and supporting team members in order to make them successful in their roles. Ensure all team members attend all required training.
Assist Dietitian with obtaining data. Check daily for nutritional related problems and confer with Dietitian so prompt interventions may be implemented. Follow up on interventions.
Plan menus and develop standardized menus in addition to food specification for new menu items and submit to Dietitian for approval. Present menu and samples to RGCC members.
Prepare food orders following food specifications. Maintain inventory/ordering system. Ensure dietary budget is maintained.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of 64E-11 and ensure that all regulations are met and sanitation/safety checks are completed. Ensure that Federal, State, County and company regulations are implemented and maintained. Correct facility deficiencies as needed.
Follow nutritional guidelines for daily and holiday menu planning. Follow through with cooks to ensure food preparation is consistent and plate presentation is correct.
Check and follow through with diet orders and meal card changes. Consult with Dietician, Speech Therapist and Occupational Therapist as needed.
Arrange special functions, working closely with facility key staff and dietary staff to ensure smooth workflow and the success of the function.
Participate in facility orientation for new Team Members. In-service dietary and direct care staff throughout the year to ensure that dietary standards are maintained.
Ensures all direct reports understand all policies related to safety and their role in ensuring safety for themselves, for residents/consumers, for co-workers and for families, guardians and visitors. Provides training on job-specific safe work procedures. Confirms that Team Members know and comply with reporting procedures. Recognizes, reinforces and rewards Team Members in tangible ways for safe work performance and behaviors, i.e., public or private verbal recognition, informal written notes, formal commendations, and available incentives.
Must conduct time keeping of staff for payroll purposes
Must fill in for shifts as needed with on call
Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
