Charge Registered Nurse Baylor Weekend Shift

The Charge Nurse plays a vital leadership role within the healthcare team, overseeing patient care in long term care environment. This position requires a highly skilled registered nurse with extensive experience in long-term care. The Charge Nurse ensures adherence to clinical standards, manages nursing staff, and coordinates patient assessments and treatments to promote optimal health outcomes.

Duties

• Lead and coordinate nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care in a long term setting for geriatrics
• Conduct thorough patient assessments involving vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform treatment plans.
• Oversee medication administration, IV infusion, injections, catheter care, tube feeding, and aseptic techniques while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Supervise diagnostic evaluations including laboratory testing, specimen collection
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently to maintain sterile environments and prevent healthcare-associated infections.
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate post-acute or home & community care services for patients transitioning from inpatient settings.

• Extensive clinical expertise in diverse healthcare environments including nursing homes
• Strong leadership abilities to supervise multidisciplinary teams while fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge
• Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining safety standards.
• Effective communication skills for teaching patients about health coaching or family planning; experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred.
