Salary: $1,722.00 per week
Job Overview:
The Radiologic Technician performs diagnostic imaging procedures in a correctional healthcare environment, ensuring patient safety and adherence to all radiologic protocols. This role requires technical expertise in radiography, radiation safety, and emergency support while collaborating closely with medical providers and healthcare teams to deliver accurate and efficient imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations with and without contrast media
- Operate radiology equipment following state and facility safety standards
- Practice radiation exposure safety under the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle
- Assist medical providers in emergency medical situations requiring imaging or procedural support
- Conduct special imaging procedures including fluoroscopy, drainage, biopsies, and myelograms
- Develop and process X-ray exposures using proper imaging and safety techniques
- Maintain accurate patient records, radiologic reports, and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and facility policies
Required Qualifications:
- Active California Radiologic Technologist License (hard copy required)
- Minimum of 12 continuous months of experience within the last 3 years providing direct patient care in a public or private institution
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport)
- Proficiency in radiology procedures and contrast imaging techniques
- Current clinical competencies
