Job Overview
We are hiring a Licensed Psychiatric Technician to provide behavioral health and psychiatric care inside a secure correctional healthcare facility in San Diego, California. This role supports individuals with mental health and developmental conditions while working alongside nurses, physicians, and mental health professionals.
This is a full-time position with consistent hours, flexible scheduling, and competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral health and psychiatric care to patients in a correctional setting
- Monitor patients for changes in mental status, behavior, and physical condition
- Administer medications and treatments within scope of licensure
- Record and monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Support treatment plans developed by medical and mental health providers
- Assist with group and individual therapeutic activities
- Coordinate clinical appointments and patient movement within the facility
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies including CPR and first aid
- Help maintain a safe and therapeutic clinical environment
Qualifications
- Active California Psychiatric Technician License
- Minimum 12 months of recent psychiatric, behavioral health, or correctional healthcare experience within the last 3 years
- Ability to work in a secure correctional facility environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
