Role Description
This full-time, on-site role as a Direct Support Professional is based in Gilbert, AZ. The role involves assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and quality of life. Key responsibilities include providing personal care, facilitating daily activities, supporting skill development, ensuring a safe and supportive living environment, and documenting progress or incidents. The role also involves collaborating with team members, family members, and care professionals to create individualized care plans and deliver compassionate support to meet each member's unique needs.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, hygiene, and mobility support
- Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations
- Experience with documentation and reporting, including maintaining accurate progress and incident records
- Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with other staff, family members, and healthcare professionals
- Experience in caregiving, special education, or supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving, first aid, or CPR are beneficial
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card are required
