Mobility Support Driver wheelchair van

We are looking for a driver for our wheelchair van and occasionally a car. The work entails picking up clients, getting them secured in the wheelchair van, and transporting them to their appts and/or facility, or getting them secured in the car. This job is a very rewarding job! If you like working with elderly or disabled, this could be a perfect job for you.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be reliable

-Must be on time as we run on a tight schedule with appts

-Must be friendly and sociable

-Must be very caring!

-Must have a clean driving record.

-Some of our clients are larger persons, so you will need to be fairly fit and strong to push them up the ramp into the van.

Days we require drivers are Monday through Friday. There may be occasional need for a weekend day, but that is uncommon.

We do drug tests, thorough background checks, and will check driving record.

MUST BE 30 years old or older (insurance requirement).

Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers to and from designated locations using a wheelchair van.

- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle
- Maintain a clean and organized van interior
- Communicate effectively with passengers to ensure a positive experience
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely transportation

Experience:
- Previous experience as a school bus driver, medical/caregiving background, or in a similar driving role is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with passengers and provide excellent customer service
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to drive without compromising safety
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and loading/unloading of passenger belongings
- Familiarity with maintaining vehicles in good working condition
