Welder/Custom Fabricator

Position Summary

Cardish Machine Works is seeking a skilled Welder / Custom Fabricator to join our team. This role involves welding, fabricating, and repairing custom parts and assemblies for a wide range of industrial applications. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of working from drawings or concepts to produce high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Fabricate custom components and assemblies based on blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble materials to precise tolerances
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, presses, and other shop tools
• Perform repairs and modifications to existing equipment and components
• Inspect finished welds and fabricated parts to ensure quality and accuracy
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with machinists and other team members to complete projects efficiently

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with material handling and shop organization as needed
• Support urgent repair or breakdown jobs with quick turnaround times
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and upkeep
• Take on miscellaneous shop tasks as required

Qualifications

• Proven experience in welding and custom fabrication
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding (Stick welding a plus)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes and metal properties
• Experience using fabrication tools and equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Physical ability to lift materials and perform hands-on tasks

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
