Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Specialist to join our Patient Accounts team in Davenport. If you thrive in a professional medical environment, enjoy problem-solving, and excel in team-oriented settings, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

Claims Processing & Payment Posting

• Process electronic claim files and review reports daily.
• Correct and resubmit denied or rejected claims.
• Post insurance payments accurately within 3-5 business days.
• Appeal improperly processed claims in a timely manner.
  
  

Account Follow-Up & Communication

• Follow up on outstanding insurance claims weekly.
• Research and resolve insurance inquiries and claim denials.
• Answer patient questions regarding insurance and billing issues with professionalism and clarity.
• Work closely with clinical staff, payers, and patient accounts team to resolve discrepancies.
  
  

Compliance & Team Collaboration

• Stay informed about insurance regulations and share updates with the team.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in the training and onboarding of new insurance staff.
  
  

What Were Looking For

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of insurance, medical billing, or revenue cycle experience preferred.
  
  

Skills & Abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with computer technology and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
