Key Responsibilities
Claims Processing & Payment Posting
- Process electronic claim files and review reports daily.
- Correct and resubmit denied or rejected claims.
- Post insurance payments accurately within 3-5 business days.
- Appeal improperly processed claims in a timely manner.
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims weekly.
- Research and resolve insurance inquiries and claim denials.
- Answer patient questions regarding insurance and billing issues with professionalism and clarity.
- Work closely with clinical staff, payers, and patient accounts team to resolve discrepancies.
- Stay informed about insurance regulations and share updates with the team.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new insurance staff.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of insurance, medical billing, or revenue cycle experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with computer technology and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
