About the Role:

Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse support for cardiovascular physicians and medical staff

Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced cardiology clinic setting
-
Serve as a key clinical resource to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and accurate documentation
How You’ll Drive Our Mission Forward:

Triage patients and assess urgent/emergent cases, including:
-
Collecting and documenting vital signs, medication lists, allergies, chief complaints, and history & physicals
-
Communicating patient concerns and clinical findings to providers
-

Assist physicians/providers during patient visits and procedures as needed
-
Review, process, and carry out provider orders, including:
-
Administering injections
-
Providing medication samples per storage and sign-out protocols
-
Scheduling diagnostic tests and maintaining clinical decision support (CDS) protocols
-

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR), including:
-
Medication lists, allergies, chart notes, phone encounters, and patient wait times
-
-
Respond to inbound calls from patients, pharmacies, provider offices, and home health agencies
-
Perform blood draws (venipuncture and finger sticks) and assist with Coumadin clinic duties when needed
-
Educate patients and families on diagnostic and cardiovascular procedures, such as:
-
EKGs, Holter and event monitors, stress tests, ultrasounds, nuclear medicine treadmills, and pacemaker-related testing

Interrogate pacemakers and defibrillators and assist with pacemaker clinic operations

Complete and manage clinical and administrative forms, including:
-
Home health requests, physician statements, medical leave forms, work/school excuses, and handicap placards

Review insurance flags and complete pre-certifications prior to testing when required
-
Assist with ordering medical supplies and completing mandated clinic safety and compliance checks

Support staffing needs across clinics and departments as required

Perform additional duties as assigned in support of CIS’s mission and patient-centered philosophy
What Makes You a Great Match:

Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
-
One to two years of clinical experience, preferably in cardiology
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
-
Willingness to complete EKG and general cardiology coursework within 12 months of hire
-
Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
