Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays and patient payments
- Maintain and update accurate patient records and demographics in the EMR system
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, taking messages and routing inquiries appropriately
- Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations for cardiology services
- Ensure front desk area is organized, stocked, and HIPAA-compliant at all times
- Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare front desk setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical insurance verification and billing processes
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and general office software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative certification a plus
