Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Stress Technician to join our cardiology team. As a Cardiac Stress Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and conducting stress testing procedures, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring accurate data collection to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac stress testing by explaining procedures and ensuring proper positioning.
- Operate stress testing equipment, including treadmill or pharmacologic stress agents, while closely monitoring vital signs throughout the procedure.
- Record and interpret vital signs, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and other physiological data during tests to detect abnormal responses.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control protocols during all procedures.
- Ensure accurate documentation of test results, patient responses, and any adverse events during testing.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cath lab and stress testing areas, following safety standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sonography, and medical terminology relevant to cardiac diagnostics.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of telemetry monitoring systems and vital signs assessment.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology pertinent to cardiology procedures.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Ability to operate equipment for diagnostic evaluation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certification or training in cardiac stress testing techniques is highly desirable; ongoing professional development in interventional cardiology is a plus.
