Our specialty medical practice is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Records staff member to join our team in Mobile, Alabama. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will have prior medical records experience, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and an understanding of release of information procedures.
This is a full-time, day shift position with no weekends and paid holidays off.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
- File and manage patient charts and documentation
- Process medical records requests and release of information
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Respond to medical records inquiries from providers, patients, and staff
- Fax and upload medical records and documentation
- Accurately scan and index patient information
- Support daily medical records operations in a busy specialty practice
Qualifications
- Previous medical records or healthcare administrative experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Understanding of HIPAA and release of information procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment
