Cardiology Associates, the leading cardiology clinic in Ventura, California, is looking for a compassionate and skilled Cardiology Paramedic to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with Nuclear Stress Tests, monitor remote EKGs, and assist with responses to patient inquiries in support of our physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs). This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nuclear Stress Tests: Walk patient from waiting area to stress test lab, establish IV access, connect and monitor 12-lead ECG, disconnect and detach ECG leads and electrodes, return patient to waiting area.
- Vital Signs & Patient Care: Take and record patient vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, etc.) and prepare patients for examination.
- Monitor Patient Triage Line: Respond to patient inquiries about cardiac concerns, consult with APP/Physician as appropriate, direct patients as appropriate, refill medications.
- Monitor Remote Device Transmissions: Review device transmissions looking for potentially negative heart rhythms.
- Rooming Patients: Prepare exam rooms for patient visits and room patients for their appointments.
- Patient Presentations: Present patients to physicians and APPs, ensuring that all relevant information is provided for a smooth and thorough consultation.
- Scheduling: Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments for patients and coordinate any necessary tests or procedures.
- Office-Based Procedures: Assist physicians during office-based procedures, maintaining patient comfort and assisting with equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Paramedic program.
- Licensed as a Paramedic through California EMSA.
- Prefer 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in performing EKGs and taking patient vitals.
- Proficient at starting IVs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, especially in cardiology.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Epic, Cerner, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and provide excellent patient care.
