General Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead our dealership in Oakland, California. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all dealership operations, including Sales, Service, Parts, Finance & Insurance (F&I), and Administration.
• Drive dealership performance by achieving sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational objectives.
• Develop, coach, and mentor department managers and employees to build a high-performing, customer-focused team.
• Foster a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the dealership.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, manufacturers, and the local community.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), financial statements, and operational reports to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Develop and implement business plans, marketing initiatives, and operational strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
• Oversee inventory management to ensure proper stocking levels and maximize inventory turn.
• Manage dealership expenses and maintain financial controls while meeting budget and profitability goals.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, company policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain top-performing employees across all departments.
• Lead by example through active involvement in daily dealership operations and by maintaining a visible presence throughout the dealership.
• Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Promote a culture focused on integrity, operational excellence, and delivering an outstanding ownership experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Automotive dealership management experience
• Shown success in auto retail sales
• Confirmed leadership ability to mentor and train others
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Passionate about training sales team members and operating within a reciprocal environment
• Enthusiastic personality with high-energy attitude
• Ability to boost morale during the sales workday and improve profitability
• Organization and follow-up skills
• Experience and desire to work with technology
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
