Cardinal AG designs and builds automation equipment for the glass industry. The Electrical CAD Designer is responsible for designing and maintaining electrical and pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) .
Essential Functions:
Design & Drafting
- Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using CAD software and technical resources.
- Develop wiring diagrams, connection specifications, and layout drawings.
- Measure installation factors such as wire spans and equipment placement.
- Ensure drawings meet design standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and verify accuracy of completed drawings and cost estimates.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with electrical engineers and cross-functional teams to define design specifications.
- Support production personnel by explaining drawings and making necessary adjustments.
- Communicate with vendors to request samples and resolve design-related issues.
- Reproduce working drawings for production use.
Safety
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Assess job hazards and plan work accordingly.
- Use appropriate tools safely and maintain a clean work area.
- Take personal responsibility for safe work practices.
Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent CAD software.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., UL 508a, NFPA 79).
- UL MTR certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical and pneumatic design preferred.
