Job Description

Cardinal Staffing is hiring WELDERS for a rapidly growing conveyor systems intergrader company in Port Clinton.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include The Following:

• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and fabrication plans, with guidance, to support alignment with design requirements.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs) to help recognize, identify, and organize parts, components, and materials needed for welding.
• Operate hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, and pliers with proper instruction.
• Use power tools like drills, grinders, and impact drivers safely and effectively with direction from experienced staff.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and levels to ensure accurate assembly.
• Recognize and understand standard weld symbols to perform welds according to blueprints.
• Perform basic MIG welding on a variety of metal components, focusing on clean and efficient welds under supervision, especially thicker metals and structural frames.
• Assist in welding thin metal pieces, learning techniques to avoid warping or burn-through on lighter materials, critical for delicate components.
• Support welding of structural frames and heavier plates using guided multi-pass welding techniques.
• Keep work area clean and organized while following all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Read and understand mechanical drawings and weld symbols preferred.
• Ability to read calibration equipment preferred.
• Able to pass math and measurement assessment.
• Able to pass entry level GMAW (MIG) weld test.
• Basic reading and writing skills in the English language.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
• Able to read a tape measure within 1/16”.
• Basic data entry skills including how to print documents.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of 90-day probationary period.
  
  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• High school welding GMAW (MIG) certificate preferred.
• Post high school certificate or degree in welding preferred.
• One year of manufacturing GMAW (MIG) weld experience is preferred.
  
  

Compensation $23.00 plus 10% shift differentialHours 2nd shift 2p-10p / 3rd shift 10p-6a Overtime as needed based on production needs PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Some functions include: prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; talking on phone; climbing up and down stairs; walking shop floor; standing, stooping, bending, reaching, crawling, and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. or less, standing while attending shop machinery.
