Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Services, is immediately hiring for a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Writer & Trainer in Defiance, OH. As an SOP Writer for Cardinal Staffing, you will work in a fast-paced production environment and play a key role in developing, organizing, and maintaining clear and effective documentation to support operations, quality, and compliance.

SOP Writers Will Be Involved In:

• Writing and updating standard operating procedures
• Documenting processes and workflows
• Supporting compliance and quality standards
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities Of The SOP Writer:

• Develop, write, and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production, quality, and maintenance processes.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather accurate process information.
• Observe operations on the production floor to ensure documentation reflects actual workflows.
• Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and aligned with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and organize document control systems, including version tracking and updates.
• Review and update existing procedures to improve clarity, efficiency, and compliance.
• Support audits by providing accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Assist with training materials and job aids based on documented procedures.
  
  

Required Qualifications Of The SOP Writer:

• Experience in technical writing, SOP creation, or documentation in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to translate complex processes into clear, easy-to-follow instructions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed processes.
• Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in food production, dairy, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ISO standards, GMP, or other regulatory requirements.
• Experience with document control systems or quality management systems (QMS).
• Background in quality assurance, compliance, or process improvement.
• Training or coursework in technical writing or related field.
