Position Title: Sound, Lighting, and Stage Crew Manager

Location: Cardinal Spellman High School

Reports To: Director of Performing Arts / Associate Head of School for Student Life


Position Summary

Cardinal Spellman High School, committed to academic excellence and Gospel values, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sound, Lighting, and Stage Crew Manager to oversee all technical aspects of school productions and events. This part-time position plays a vital role in supporting our vibrant arts program and school community by ensuring high-quality production standards for liturgies, performances, assemblies, and special events.

The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a passion for mentoring students, fostering a collaborative and respectful environment rooted in the values of our Catholic mission.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all sound, lighting, and stage operations for school events, including theater productions, concerts, liturgies, graduation, and assemblies
  • Design and implement lighting and sound plans appropriate to each event
  • Train, supervise, and mentor student stage crew members in technical theater skills
  • Maintain and organize all technical equipment, ensuring safe and proper use
  • Coordinate event schedules in collaboration with faculty, campus ministry, and administration
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during rehearsals and live events
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and best practices
  • Assist in planning and executing major school events requiring technical production


Qualifications
  • Experience in sound engineering, lighting design, and/or stage management
  • Ability to operate and maintain audio/visual and lighting equipment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working with or mentoring high school students preferred
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional school-day events
  • Alignment with and respect for the mission and values of a Catholic educational institution


Schedule & Compensation
  • Part-time, flexible schedule based on school event calendar
  • Hours will vary week-to-week, with increased time commitment during production seasons
  • Compensation commensurate with experience
