Position Title: Sound, Lighting, and Stage Crew Manager
Location: Cardinal Spellman High School
Reports To: Director of Performing Arts / Associate Head of School for Student Life
Cardinal Spellman High School, committed to academic excellence and Gospel values, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sound, Lighting, and Stage Crew Manager to oversee all technical aspects of school productions and events. This part-time position plays a vital role in supporting our vibrant arts program and school community by ensuring high-quality production standards for liturgies, performances, assemblies, and special events.
The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a passion for mentoring students, fostering a collaborative and respectful environment rooted in the values of our Catholic mission.
- Oversee all sound, lighting, and stage operations for school events, including theater productions, concerts, liturgies, graduation, and assemblies
- Design and implement lighting and sound plans appropriate to each event
- Train, supervise, and mentor student stage crew members in technical theater skills
- Maintain and organize all technical equipment, ensuring safe and proper use
- Coordinate event schedules in collaboration with faculty, campus ministry, and administration
- Troubleshoot technical issues during rehearsals and live events
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and best practices
- Assist in planning and executing major school events requiring technical production
- Experience in sound engineering, lighting design, and/or stage management
- Ability to operate and maintain audio/visual and lighting equipment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience working with or mentoring high school students preferred
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional school-day events

- Part-time, flexible schedule based on school event calendar
- Hours will vary week-to-week, with increased time commitment during production seasons
