General Summary:
The Lead Server or Supervisor position is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef with the coordination, seating, appearance and maintenance of the dining areas and server stations and ensures that hospitality services are delivered effectively.
Essential Job Duties:
- Supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including tabletop settings, chairs, floors, window coverings, lighting, and guest menus.
- Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
- Creates stations and shift assignments and schedules for service staff as well as all check out procedures for servers at end of shift.
- Records meal counts, reservations and additional resident/guest charges. Complete knowledge of POS system.
- Confers with Exec. Chef regarding dining room status.
- Assigns side-work pre and post shift for service staff.
Other Duties:
- Assists in all policy implementation and procedural roll outs.
- Able to “Serve” guests and provide beverage and bar services as required.
- Monitors supplies needed for Front of House service, i.e. paper goods, linens, carry out containers, etc.
- Conveys needs in these supplies areas to Executive level for proper procurement.
- Assists in scheduling and scheduling needs for department.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Reports items needing maintenance or replacement to proper authorities.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years Lead Server/Supervisory experience within fine restaurant, club, hotel or similar institution.
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- Available seven (7) days per week for work schedule.
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and subordinates.
- State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
