Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal regularly throughout the facility.
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently and responsibly, including floor buffers, vacuums, and other janitorial tools to ensure optimal results.
- Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues while working with cleaning chemicals or performing physical tasks.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and familiarity with various cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following proper safety procedures.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation standards and safety protocol adherence.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
- Prior experience with floor care techniques such as buffing, polishing, and maintenance is advantageous.
