Responsibilities
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes curiosity and learning among young children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support child development, including preschool and toddler care.
- Supervise children closely to ensure their safety during play, learning activities, and transitions.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, attendance, and developmental observations.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health & safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar early childhood settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development instruction and classroom management best practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
- Certification in pediatric first aid, CPR, and basic first aid is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, and team members.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential.
- Previous nannying or babysitting experience with infants, toddlers, or young children is a plus.
