We are looking for a Survey Technician who is eager to master field operations and technical documentation while upholding our commitment to accuracy and professional excellence.
Position Overview
The Survey Technician is primarily responsible for supporting field operations and ensuring the accuracy of data collection across a variety of project types. Reporting to a Project Manager and working under the direction of a Crew Chief, you will be trained to perform essential field tasks, from preliminary topography to construction staking. This role requires a professional who can manage their time effectively, maintain equipment with care, and adapt to working in all weather conditions.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Field Operations: Perform preliminary and post-as-built topography, land boundary surveys, and construction staking for roads, houses, and storm networks.
- Job Set-Up & Maintenance: Ensure all assigned survey equipment is in good working order and the survey truck is stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
- Site Documentation: Take job site photos with intent and discretion and fill out applicable survey checklists at the conclusion of each job.
- Administrative Accuracy: Enter hours worked into BigTime for specific jobs and keep project statuses current in Smart Sheets.
- Collaboration & Drafting: Meet daily with the Project Manager to discuss assignments and assist with drafting for survey or engineering jobs when field work is not required.
- Communication: Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly staff meetings, prepared to take notes and participate in team development.

Rate: $20 – $27 per hour based on experience
