Payroll Accountant

Cardinal of Minnesota, Ltd. is seeking a self-driven, disciplined, full-time benefit eligible Payroll Accountant to complement our team! This is an exempt position working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Flexibility is required based on payroll processing calendar.

Cardinal of Minnesota, Ltd. was founded in 1995 and specializes in providing community living in a family setting for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cardinal operates In-Home services and over 40 residential  group homes in Minnesota, serving 240 clients and a workforce of approximately 435 employees. Cardinal operates in the following communities: Rochester, Winona, Austin, La Crescent, Red Wing, Spring Valley, Harmony and Bemidji.

We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to assist with the following payroll functions:

• Calculation of employee paychecks by processing and editing timecards
• Process employment verification, new hires, third party sick time, etc.
• Review, evaluate, and assess the accuracy of all payroll calculations, including all payroll deductions related to employee benefits (i.e., insurance, 401(k), etc.) and garnishments
• Apply payroll principles
• Maintain current excel worksheets and update graphs as applicable
• Respond to employee questions regarding their pay
• Work closely with Accountants and Human Resources
• Generate accurate payroll reports
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in processing payroll from beginning to end
• Knowledge of payroll law, payroll reporting, and compliance that is relevant to the payroll reporting process
• Alignment with Cardinal's Culture, Mission, Vision, and Values
• Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables
• Experience with payroll software preferred (e.g. UKG)
• Detail oriented with a mathematical aptitude
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines for entering and processing payroll information
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
• Must have adequate vision, reading, writing and documentation skills and comprehension of the English language
• Must be reliable, honest, and possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; demonstrates excellent communication skills and teamwork

Salary : $52,000 - $62,400
