Accountant - Rochester

Cardinal of Minnesota, Ltd. is seeking a self-driven, disciplined, full-time benefit eligible Staff Accountant to complement our Accounting team! This is a non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The position will include a wide range of responsibilities. Staff Accountant should be able to execute financial transactions and be able to compile financial data in a meaningful presentation. Staff Accountant will code expenditures, post to the accounting systems, and reconcile monthly vendor statements. Accountant will support other accountants in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and data collection. Must be able to analyze data and make determinations as to the appropriate outcome. Needs to be detail oriented, focus on repetitive processes, possess a willingness to learn and be a team player.

Qualifications:

• College graduate with an accounting degree or work experience as an Accountant
• Working knowledge of all major functions of accounting and general ledger
• Understand the relationship between accounts receivables and revenue and be able to apply principles to reconcile monthly
• Ability to perform the full-cycle of the accounts receivable process
• Understand the relationship between accounts payable and expenses and be able to apply the appropriate principles
• Ability to perform the full-cycle of the accounts payable process
• Understand the relationship of posted transactions to the balance sheet and profit and loss statement
• Understand the principles of prepaid expenditures and accrued expenses
• Generate and analyze financial statements and reports
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Proficiency with standard accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Excel, Ten Key
• Ability to research using the internet and other sources
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members
• Foster an atmosphere of teamwork and mutual suppport

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
• Must have adequate vision, reading, writing and documentation skills and comprehension of the English language
