Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe changes in condition, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices
- Document patient observations, care activities, and progress meticulously in compliance with healthcare standards
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities or home & community care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care planning
- A negative TB test from within the last year - Required
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training are preferred but not required; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach toward working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Experience working with seniors or individuals requiring memory or dementia care is advantageous
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends
