Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs and observing changes in condition
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges - Document patient observations, care activities, and updates accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or hospice care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, vital signs measurement, and medication administration
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), or other cognitive impairments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting patients’ social needs
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and basic nursing or caregiving training are highly valued
