Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician / Caregiver to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or hospice care. Knowledge of medical documentation, medication administration, and healthcare systems such as EMR and EHR is essential. Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and HIPAA regulations
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Assist patients with daily activities including mobility, personal hygiene, and feeding
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory impairments
- Support patients with tube feedings, catheter care, and other complex medical needs
- Document all patient interactions and medical procedures using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care delivery
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in hospice/memory care is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation
- Valid certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential required where applicable
- Ability to work compassionately with seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments
