CARDINA Consulting is growing, and we're looking for a Commissioning Technician / Field Representative to join our team. If you enjoy being in the field, solving problems, and working with contractors, owners, and design teams to ensure building systems perform as intended, we'd like to hear from you.
Primary Responsibilities
• Conduct field commissioning activities for commercial and institutional projects.
• Perform and document pre-functional and functional performance testing of MEP systems.
• Coordinate with owners, contractors, TAB firms, controls contractors, and design professionals.
• Verify installation and operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and control systems.
• Review construction progress and identify deficiencies affecting system performance.
• Document findings and prepare clear, professional field reports.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building automation/control systems.
• Understanding of MEP system installation and construction practices.
• Familiarity with the commissioning process is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and control sequences.
• Experience troubleshooting building systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with owners, contractors, and project teams.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
Requirements
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required (primarily regional, with occasional out-of-town travel).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to walk construction sites, climb ladders, and occasionally access rooftops and mechanical spaces.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience
• Commissioning, TAB, HVAC service, controls, mechanical contracting, or MEP construction experience.
• Experience with BAS/DDC systems and control sequences.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience is a plus, but not required.
