This position serves as a critical link between providers, insurance payors, and patientshelping ensure that all referrals and pre-authorizations are handled quickly, accurately, and with compassion.You'll manage incoming and outgoing referral requests, verify insurance eligibility, follow up on pending authorizations, and respond to communications from the scheduling team, call center, and other clinic staff. This role plays a vital part in reducing patient delays, improving provider workflows, and enhancing the overall experience of care.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesReferral ManagementVerify patient insurance eligibility for procedures and consultationsSubmit and track referral requests through pre-authorization channelsFollow up weekly on pending referrals and communicate with external providers as neededProcess and fax incoming/outgoing referral documentationCommunication & CoordinationRespond to referral-related calls and messages from the call center and clinic schedulersManage email communications across multiple departments and document updates in EMRWork closely with team members in scheduling, billing, and the business officeAdministrative SupportParticipate in monthly bookkeeping meetingsProvide general backup support to the Business OfficeAnswer business office phone lines and assist with other tasks as assignedWhat You'll Need to SucceedMinimum Qualifications1 year of experience in healthcare or medical billing preferredStrong knowledge of health insurance processes and referral workflowsProficiency in Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to use basic office equipment (computer, fax, printer, phone)Excellent communication, follow-up, and documentation skillsPreferred QualitiesExperience with EMR and referral tracking systemsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEmpathy, patience, and a customer-service mindsetSelf-motivated, able to manage priorities in a remote settingWork EnvironmentSchedule: Full-time, MondayFriday, daytime hoursLocation: 100% remote; must reside in Washington state.
