This job is based in the Watertown office with required travel to the East Syracuse office at 6700 Kirkville Rd, East Syracuse, NY.
Travel reimbursement provided.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and review patient charts prior to appointments, ensuring all required records, test results, and imaging reports are available and accurately documented for provider review.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists.
- Prepare patients for examinations, diagnostic testing, and procedures.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and assist with cardiac testing as directed.
- Review and document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Communicate with patients regarding test results, medication refills, and provider instructions.
- Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer and EMR skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinical environment.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Previous experience as a medical assistant.
- Previous experience in cardiology or a specialty practice.
- Experience performing EKGs and assisting with cardiac diagnostic testing.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular terminology and common cardiac conditions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent
- Certified EKG Technician (CET)
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
