Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Local Game Store Manager to lead our retail team and oversee daily store operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, management, and customer service skills, along with a passion for gaming and retail management. This role involves managing inventory, supervising staff, driving sales, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. The manager will also be responsible for implementing marketing strategies, training team members, and maintaining store standards to foster a welcoming environment for gamers of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Help open and launch brand new local game store.
- Lead and supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth functioning during shifts
- Manage inventory control, purchasing, and stock replenishment to meet sales targets
- Oversee POS systems, cash handling, cashiering duties, and sales transactions with accuracy
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff to enhance team performance and customer service quality
- Implement merchandising strategies and organize product displays to maximize sales potential
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing clientele
- Enforce store policies regarding pricing, sales promotions, and inventory management
- Conduct employee orientation sessions and ongoing training & development programs
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints effectively, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Supervise shift management to ensure proper staffing levels during operating hours
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment adhering to safety standards
Skills
- Proven management experience in retail or similar environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS software, bookkeeping, and retail math
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and pricing strategies
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, and training & development
- Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with excellent time management capabilities
- Knowledge of marketing techniques relevant to retail environments including social media promotion
- Customer service-oriented mindset with exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with retail sales techniques such as upselling and cross-selling
- Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining store profitability
