Bookkeeper / Tax Preparer - Hilo, Hawaii
Carbonaro CPAs has an immediate opening for full time work as a Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer in our office in Hilo, Hawaii. We are looking for a bookkeeper with some experience in tax preparation or someone who would like to expand their accounting skills to include both. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, reliable, highly organized individual who is able to work well with others, and able to maintain the accounts for multiple clients. Responsibilities of a Bookkeeper includes but not limited to:
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Journal entry in general ledger
- Reconcile the subsidiary ledgers to the Balance Sheet
- Bank reconciliation
- Payroll & payroll tax filing – monthly, quarterly & annual reporting
- Prepare Financial reports
- Prepare general excise and transient accommodation tax filing
- Review of tax clients' books/financials in preparation for the tax returns
Responsibilities for Tax Preparer includes but not limited to:
- Gathering of tax documents
- Data entry into tax software - individual or business returns
- Assist with tax administrative duties in the office, as needed
The ideal candidates must possess:
- High School Diploma and additional education such as an Accounting Degree or certification
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a full charge bookkeeper
- Knowledge of Quickbooks or online Quickbooks
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
- Tax preparation experience, helpful
- Be a quick learner, teachable, coachable and willingness to work
- Self motivated and work well with a team and with clients
- Highly organized - As you will be working with multiple Profit & Non-profit clients
