Job Type - Part-time
Schedule: Various hours and days including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Current hiring needs include:
- Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings
- Saturday mornings
- Applicants must be able to commit to a consistent schedule for the duration of a swim lesson session, which typically lasts 2 - 4 weeks.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, Swim Instructors teach swim lessons to participants of various ages and skill levels following the curriculum and guidelines established by the Aquatics Leadership Team.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, are comfortable in the water, and are passionate about helping others build confidence and safety skills through swimming.
No previous teaching experience is required. Full training is provided on our swim lesson curriculum, teaching methods, and class expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Lead and instruct assigned swim lesson classes.
- Prepare for lessons and follow established curriculum guidelines.
- Supervise participants at all times and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Complete student evaluations/report cards at the end of each session.
- Communicate positively and professionally with participants, parents, and staff.
- Attend required staff trainings and meetings.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Comply with all District and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Ability to swim and be comfortable working in and around the water.
- Ability to work consistently throughout the duration of assigned swim lesson sessions.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills.
- Ability to work positively with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITES
- Instructors who successfully complete training and are approved to teach private lessons may have opportunities for additional flexible scheduling outside of regular group lesson hours.
- CVPRD Swim Instructors may receive priority consideration for internal lifeguard openings; however, employees must successfully complete the required lifeguard certification course and meet all lifeguard position requirements before being scheduled as a lifeguard.
Salary : $18 - $18
