DEPARTMENT: Juvenile Court
POSITION: Specialist I
SALARY RANGE: Grade/Step 3A - $14.91 per hour
HOURS WORKED: Generally, Monday through Friday - between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. except when community service projects are completed over a weekend (twice a month) and a modified work schedule would be set. Hours may vary occasionally depending on the needs of the Court.
This position assists a Juvenile Court Officer in the supervision of juveniles in the community at community service work projects, assists in the inputting and maintaining of juvenile cases in various case management systems and performs clerical duties and responsibilities within the department.
Applicant must be able to understand the English language and follow oral and written instructions; must possess excellent math and problem-solving skills and abilities; must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to client information and records; must possess the technical knowledge of operating personal computers and other office equipment; must possess the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff and the general public.
Applicant must possess an education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade and some business/clerical training and/or work experience.
Applicant must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license and proof of insurance. Applicant must submit to (1) a Child Abuse Certification, (2) Pennsylvania Criminal Background Record Check and (3) a Federal Criminal History Record Report, as well as complete a pre-employment drug screen.
