CARBON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS HIRING FOR A FULL-TIME PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATION DISPATCHER
POSITION: PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATION DISPATCHER
WAGE: Starting wage will be $24.49/hour; after successful completion of a one-year probationary period, the salary will increase to $28.57/hour
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Public Safety Communication Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and prioritizing all emergency and non-emergency requests for service and for dispatching appropriate service providers in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of Carbon County and the Carbon County Sheriff's Office. All work functions involve the use of computer technology, which requires a high level of accuracy, concentration, attention to detail, and multitasking. Work involves the exercise of independent judgment in receiving and transmitting law enforcement, fire, emergency medical, and other emergency services information by emergency radio, telephone, and computer and determining what actions are necessary based on the call. This position must receive, record and transmit information accurately, timely and on a strictly confidential basis.
BENEFITS & SCHEDULE: Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental & vision insurance; county-paid life insurance; and vacation, sick & comp leave after the successful completion of the probationary period. Employer pays up to $1500 a month per employee toward health insurance premiums for FT employees. Schedule will vary to meet the requirements of the Dispatch Operations Center.
