Landfill Operations Manager / Operator
Location: Caraway Hills Landfill

Milan, TN
Caraway Hills Landfill is seeking a dependable and experienced Landfill Operations Manager / Operator to oversee daily landfill operations while operating heavy equipment and leading the site team.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day landfill activities, operating equipment, and ensuring the site runs safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the landfill
- Supervise and guide the site team to maintain safe and efficient operations
- Operate heavy machinery including compactors, dozers, loaders, excavators, and other landfill equipment
- Utilize GPS equipment for grading, site development, and landfill operations
- Ensure proper waste placement, compaction, and daily cover
- Maintain site organization, safety standards, and operational efficiency
- Communicate with management regarding site performance and operational needs
Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment (dozer, compactor, loader, excavator preferred)
- Ability to work with and operate GPS equipment for site operations
- Leadership ability and experience managing or directing a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Waste industry or landfill experience preferred but not required
Schedule
- Approximately 50 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- Some Saturdays required as needed
