Are you passionate about coffee and eager to embark on a journey into the world of specialty coffee? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated, engaged, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Tasting Room Host and Barista at Caravan Coffee in Newberg, Oregon.
As a Tasting Room Host you will be responsible for representing Caravan’s brand and creating exceptional coffee experiences for our Tasting Room guests by facilitating a caring coffee community.
Promote the Caravan Brand
- Represent Caravan’s mission, identity, culture and core values.
- Be well-versed in Caravan’s story and legacy, sharing with our Tasting Room guests what makes Caravan special.
- Practice and promote warm, engaging hospitality. Follow dress code and personal presentation standards.
Service
- Welcome guests warmly.
- Prepare and serve beverages to guests with consistency in quality.
- Provide guests with specifics on the coffees and products we are selling and serving in the Tasting Room.
- Provide service for guests picking up will-call orders.
- Take and fulfill bulk orders as needed.
- Listen to and address guest complaints, as they occur.
- Serve coffee flights and provide facility group tours to Tasting Room guests.
Operate the Tasting Room
- Complete opening, midday, closing, and weekly tasks in the Tasting Room.
- Be proficient in operating the espresso bar.
- Be proficient in working on the POS system and cash register.
- Opening and closing of the till, counting cash in the till, receiving monies for transactions.
- Grocery shop for Tasting Room supplies, as needed.
- Cupping, tasting and preparing coffees for Quality Control.
Pay: Starts at $15.25 per hour, plus tips. Tips average an additional $3-$4 per hour.
