What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at CARABETTA COMPANIES?
Carabetta Property Management is actively seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our Maintenance team to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in our well-maintained, residential and commercial properties.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day, with strong troubleshooting skills, who can take ownership and efficiently solve problems independently.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, and equipment across assigned properties.
- Inspect electrical components-such as circuit breakers, transformers, and outlets- to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues quickly and accurately.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as state and local regulations.
- Collaborate with property managers, maintenance staff, and contractors to keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and associated costs.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Recommend energy-efficient improvements to help reduce overall utility costs.
Qualifications
- Valid Connecticut Electrician License (E1 or E2) is REQUIRED.
- Technical school training or an electrical certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of residential/commercial electrical experience; property management or facilities experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency for work orders and documentation.
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus!
