Position Overview: The Estimator is responsible for preparing and ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive bid proposals for electrical contracting projects. This role requires knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and cost estimation. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive and competitive estimates that align with company objectives and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Estimating and Proposal Development:
a. Develop a detailed cost estimate for electrical contracting projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
b. Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates.
c. Identify potential risks and opportunities in project bids and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
2) Project Coordination:
a. Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
b. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
3) Quality Control:
a. Ensure all estimates are prepared in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry
- knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and cost estimation techniques.
- Knowledge of Accubid estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office environment and on construction sites as needed.
- Ability to travel as required for site visits and meetings.
