What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Captivate Minds Marketing?
Graphic Designer — Captivate Minds Marketing
Alexandria, Louisiana · Full-time · In-office
Captivate Minds Marketing is a full-service marketing agency based in Alexandria, Louisiana. We handle traditional and digital strategy, creative, media buying, and event promotion for a roster of clients across legal, healthcare, hospitality, retail, political, and arts sectors.
We're hiring a Graphic Designer to be a core part of our creative team — the person who turns a brief into finished work across print, digital, and social. This isn't a template-filling seat. We need someone who can take a rough direction and run with it: develop the concept, nail the execution, and ship it clean without a lot of hand-holding. If you're the designer your last team trusted with the "figure it out" projects, keep reading.
What you'll actually do
- Design across the full range — social graphics, digital and print ads, brochures, event collateral, logos, web assets, and pitch materials.
- Take briefs from our Creative Director and CEO and develop them into finished creative, often owning a piece start to finish.
- Keep your work moving through ClickUp: pick up assigned tasks, hit due dates, flag blockers early.
- Deliver production-ready files — correct specs, bleeds, color, and formats — the first time.
- Collaborate with our social, web, and media teams so creative lands consistently across every channel.
What we're looking for
- A portfolio that shows range and original thinking — not just clean execution of someone else's layout. We want to see work you concepted, not only work you produced.
- Strong command of the Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Comfort in Canva is a bonus, not a substitute.
- The ability to work independently. This is an in-office role — you'll be part of the studio day to day — but we need someone who owns their queue and hits deadlines without someone standing over them.
- A good eye for alignment, hierarchy, and detail, and the discipline to proof your own work before it goes out.
- Solid written English and the ability to follow — and improve on — a brief.
- Bonus: familiarity with WordPress / Elementor or social-first design.
About the role We're a fast-paced, owner-led shop with a lot of clients in flight. That means variety, ownership, and real creative range — and it means we need people who like moving quickly and finishing things. If you want a quiet corporate seat, this isn't it. If you want your work in market constantly and a team that trusts you with the hard briefs, it is.
To apply, send your resume and a portfolio link. Applications without a portfolio won't be reviewed.
