Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering to recipes and food safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and other culinary tools
- Assist in menu planning and food production to meet high-volume demands while maintaining quality standards
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and sanitizing procedures are followed consistently to uphold food safety regulations
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, providing excellent table service and addressing special dietary needs when necessary
- Support dietary department initiatives by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with meal preparation for special diets
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen areas, and dining spaces throughout shifts to ensure a safe and organized environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; experience in dietary aide roles or dietary departments is a plus
- Demonstrated culinary skills including knife proficiency, grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure during high-volume production periods
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering is desirable but not mandatory
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional food and service experiences
